Postdoctoral Fellow
About the role
The position involves carrying out advanced independent research to achieve project objectives, adhering to established methods and guidelines, and participating in research data collection and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel engaged in research activities and/or related work.
- Advise principal investigators, other postdocs, students, and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures, and other aspects of research activities.
- Compose articles for publication in scientific journals; review articles prepared by others.
- Analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques and, if necessary, develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis.
- Coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature; summarize and evaluate findings; develop derivative applications of techniques developed by own research activities or reported by other research projects.
- Presents findings at scientific meetings locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Develop and validate bioinformatics programs, packages, and utility tools. Apply advanced programming knowledge to support programming efficiencies. Prepare statistical data for inclusion in reports to data monitoring committees, federal regulatory agencies, managers, or clients/researchers.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited college or university
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
Recruitment Period: 7/9/26 - Until Filled
Conditions of Employment
- All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
- If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check complete for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
- Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
- Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s).
- Candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
