Postdoctoral Associate in Chemistry/Biology
About the Role
A Postdoctoral Associate position in molecular biology, NGS sequencing, bioinformatics, and nanopore sequencing is available under the supervision of Dr. Feng Tang in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, FL. This role focuses on leveraging sequencing and proteomics techniques to study how DNA damage induced by environmental exposure and endogenous metabolism contributes to cancer and aging-related diseases.
This position is initially awarded for one year and, contingent upon strong performance, conduct, and availability of funds, may be renewed for up to three years.

Responsibilities
- Conduct research on DNA damage, environmental exposure, and its role in cancer and aging-related diseases using sequencing and proteomics techniques.
- Apply molecular biology, NGS sequencing, bioinformatics, and nanopore sequencing methodologies.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
- Take initiative, set priorities, manage time effectively, and resolve research-related challenges.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong initiative, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Strong background in molecular biology, NGS sequencing, bioinformatics, or nanopore sequencing.
- A strong publication record is considered an asset.
