About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on projects related to central and peripheral nervous system tumors (brain tumors and peripheral nerve sheath tumors). The candidate will primarily be responsible for performing experiments studying the effect of different drug interventions on tumor growth in a mouse model.

Responsibilities

  • Provide researchers with technical assistance as requested.
  • Perform job functions adhering to principles of innovation, academic excellence, and teamwork.
  • Conduct genetic studies and molecular biology experiments using tools such as Redcap, imaging software, and gene chip arrays.
  • Analyze data and prepare it for presentations, grants, and publications.
  • Assist in writing grant proposals and progress reports related to research projects.
  • Participate in regular lab meetings, journal clubs, and research seminars.
  • Perform mouse handling, including breeding, genotyping, sample/data collection, oral gavage, and IP injections.
  • Participate in the general management and daily operation of the lab, including training technicians and students.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or MD in Medical or Biological Science.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to establish priorities and react promptly to requests, sometimes in stressful situations.
  • Mouse handling experience, including breeding, genotyping, sample/data collection, oral gavage, and IP injections.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $46,280.00–$75,670.40. At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise.
