Postdoc of Bioinformatics and Computational Proteomics

About the role

The GLOBE Institute at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a postdoctoral position in bioinformatics and computational proteomics, serving as the computational core of StructProt, a cross-faculty UCPH Convergence project.

Responsibilities

• Characterize collagen and keratin sequence diversity across thousands of published vertebrate genome assemblies.
• Translate sequence diversity into a structured reference resource for mass spectrometry species identification.
• Develop pipelines for the analysis of ZooMS (MALDI-TOF MS) and LC-MS/MS data.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

• A PhD in bioinformatics, computational proteomics, or a related field.
• Experience in bioinformatics and computational proteomics.
• Strong programming skills in Python/R/bash.
• Experience with mass spectrometry data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• An excellent track record of publications in high-impact journals.
• Experience with large-scale genomic data analysis.
• Knowledge of protein biophysics and evolutionary genomics.
• Experience with paleoproteomics and biomolecular archaeology.
