About the role
The Gussoni laboratory seeks a highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow to study gene networks that regulate skeletal muscle stem cell activation. The goal is to effectively use these networks for tissue regeneration and cell-based therapy.
Responsibilities
- Active involvement in funded projects including Tetraspanin CD82 in muscle stem cell quiescence and differentiation
- Investigation of epigenetic dysregulation of muscle differentiation in Kabuki syndrome
- Research on the effects of overexpression of CD82 to improve dystrophic myofiber stability
- Studies of human and mouse muscle stem cells
- Work with live animals
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology
- Experience in muscle biology and epigenetics preferred
- Strong publication record
- Collaborative spirit and team building skills
