About the role

The Gussoni laboratory seeks a highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow to study gene networks that regulate skeletal muscle stem cell activation. The goal is to effectively use these networks for tissue regeneration and cell-based therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Active involvement in funded projects including Tetraspanin CD82 in muscle stem cell quiescence and differentiation
  • Investigation of epigenetic dysregulation of muscle differentiation in Kabuki syndrome
  • Research on the effects of overexpression of CD82 to improve dystrophic myofiber stability
  • Studies of human and mouse muscle stem cells
  • Work with live animals

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology
  • Experience in muscle biology and epigenetics preferred
  • Strong publication record
  • Collaborative spirit and team building skills
