About This Role

Responsible for providing comprehensive student advisement and coordinating program-related activities. Supports program operations and assists with identifying and selecting eligible participants. Delivers educational, vocational, and personal counseling to low-income students who are potential first-generation college attendees. Guides students academically, administers assessments, and facilitates referrals to support students in achieving their educational goals. Conducts targeted outreach initiatives and organizes academic and professional development workshops. This position requires working a fluctuating schedule, including nights and weekends. This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.

Responsibilities

• Advises students on course of study, course offerings, necessary testing, and prerequisites.
• Guides students and staff and answers questions regarding financial aid programs.
• Serves as liaison on special projects.
• Assists students in selecting a major or program.
• Assists in understanding educational, personal, and occupational strengths and limitations.
• Develops and maintains positive relations with the community to promote College partnerships and collaboration.
• Qualifies, registers, and monitors students in recruitment and retention programs.
• Assists students with issues utilizing a variety of formats such as in-person, phone, email, and online chat.
• Assists students with registration paperwork and registration on the system.
• Analyzes test results and identifies areas requiring further attention.
• Coordinates or assists with implementing the program’s goals, objectives, and evaluation procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge of field or profession.
• Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional association events outside college locations as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• One year of related experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
• Valid Florida driver’s license
• Regular physical attendance required

Pay

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $44,587.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
