Post Process Operator I
Stratasys is leading the global shift to additive manufacturing with innovative 3D printing solutions for industries such as aerospace, automotive, consumer products, and healthcare. The Post Process Operator I role is based in our Tucson, AZ facility on first shift.
About the role
You will be responsible for all aspects of post-processing 3D printed parts made from polymer materials using additive technologies. This includes operating post-processing equipment to prepare printed parts for finishing, performing part count and visual inspection, and adhering to specific work orders and work instructions. You will work with regular orders to finish products after manufacturing, including removing support, sanding, and painting—providing the final touch to customer orders.
Responsibilities
- Basic understanding of all part cleaning and support removal techniques; complete tasks with moderate supervision in a timely manner
- Review work instructions for product information and special needs
- For SLA and DLP technologies, use part washers, spinners, UV light ovens, and heat treat ovens
- Use hand tools (scrapers, blades, brushes, pressurized air, etc.) to clean excess material and supports from parts
- Keep work area clean and organized; complete end-of-day cleaning and closing procedures
- Transport parts from Post Processing to Finishing department
- Responsible for compliance with Quality Management System
- Adhere to relevant work instructions and observe/identify faulty parts based on work orders
- Follow established production workflow for part traceability
- Address problems with parts and production with Lead/Supervisor
- Collaborate closely with operators and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve post-processing challenges
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects
- Perform other tasks as required by the department supervisor and leads
Requirements
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Experience working with hands (gross and fine motor skills)
- Demonstrates ability to learn and interpret work instructions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Proficiency in the English language
- Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing setting is preferred
Skills
- Takes initiative to keep working area clean and free of hazardous materials
