Post-Harvest Technician - PA

About the role
The Post-Harvest Technician assists managers in the day-to-day functions of packaging, trimming, harvesting, and storing finished products. This detail-oriented, operational role plays a critical part in quality control, ensuring sanitary and organized inventory management. The position requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively while also being a self-starter. Previous cannabis cultivation experience is not required. Reports to the Cultivation Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental checks and ongoing observation of post-harvest processes
- Assist with harvesting activities
- Correctly utilize checklists, logs, process flow charts, and standard operating procedures
- Maintain cleaning and sanitizing protocols in work areas
- Monitor environment in cure areas
- Protect finished product from waste or loss
- Trim and sort usable product and trim into distinct batches
- Package product and trim according to procedures
- Facilitate accurate inventory control at all steps
- Keep work and break areas free of clutter and debris
- Ensure work uniforms are clean
- Communicate effectively with post-harvest and other departments
- Update personal information in personnel files as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must pass state-specific background test requirements (PA: 18+, MA/OH: 21+)
- Possess a valid driver’s license or state ID card
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to perform essential job functions for extended periods (8–10 hours per day)
- Frequent activities include sitting, walking, bending, climbing ladders, reaching, and repetitive hand motions
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds over distances of up to 100 feet
- Work may involve exposure to cannabis odors, airborne particles, fertilizers, and high humidity in cultivation or processing areas
- Job duties may be performed in retail dispensaries, cultivation rooms, or post-harvest facilities with varied lighting and temperature conditions
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of cannabis growing, trimming, or industry experience preferred
- Certification or education in agricultural, horticultural, or botanical practices a plus
- Experience with inventory software, Excel, or Google spreadsheets
- Education in agriculture, horticulture, or botany preferred but not required
Pay
This non-exempt position is eligible for overtime pay, with an hourly range of $17.00 – $19.00.
