Post Harvest Supervisor
About the role
The Post-Harvest Supervisor oversees all processes in the department including harvest, destemming, weighing, tracking, and inspecting cannabis flower. They also communicate tasks to the Lead(s) and assist the Post-Harvest Manager in department strategies. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safe environment, managing the AYR Operating System, auditing inspections and weights, scheduling labor, quality control, reporting issues, tracking attendance, and fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a Safe working environment by performing Safety Audits and Safety Corrective Actions as required.
- Adhere and manage the AYR Operating System (AOS) within the assigned area.
- Audit Leads' inspection and weighing of cannabis flower, stems, stalks, and fan leaves and input into the state mandated and internal tracking software system(s).
- Schedule labor and manage daily adjustments to ensure production requirements are achieved.
- Quality Control of assigned area ensuring a clean, seedless, pest, and pathogen product is produced.
- Report any instances of identifiable occurrences of mold, mildew, seeds, pests, or pathogens to the Post-Harvest Manager.
- Track attendance and performance of assigned team members.
- Aid in the hiring process for post-harvest.
- Schedule training and feedback to team members during their training period.
- Aids in any other tasks related to the post-harvest process as necessary.
- Allocates duties to Post-Harvest Leads and Technicians as needed.
- Fosters a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for “everything cannabis”.
Qualifications
- Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies.
- Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies.
- Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product.
- Able to multi-task repeatedly with exceptional attention to detail with minimal errors.
- Excellent PC Skills and expertise in Microsoft Office programs.
- Proven record of boosting team performance.
- Able to communicate effectively with coworkers.
- Must be dependable, professional, and confident.
- Able to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Education
- High school diploma/GED
- Bachelor’s degree in a horticultural or agricultural field or demonstrated experience in horticulture or agricultural production preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, and walking motion/movement will be required.
- Lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds may be required.
- Constant movement and use of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Must be able to inspect and detect quality defects.
Working Conditions
- The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes.
- The working area may be odorous at times and loud due to fans and filtration systems, fluctuating between cold and warm temperatures.
