Post Doctoral Scholar- Microbial Infection & Immunity

About the role

Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue research studying the epigenetic regulation of lymphocyte development and function under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity.

Responsibilities

• Designs, conducts, and evaluates research experiments.
• Plans and executes advanced cellular biology, molecular biology, and flow cytometry research techniques and procedures.
• Develops, adopts, and implements new laboratory methods.
• Analyzes and interprets data.
• Writes research papers for publication.
• Performs scientific literature searches.
• Presents research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings.
• Applies for postdoctoral fellowships.
• Assists Principal Investigator (PI) with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research.
• Participates in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and Department seminars and activities.
• Assists with training of other lab members.

Requirements

• MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required.
• Ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with cellular biology, molecular biology, and/or flow cytometry research techniques and procedures desired.
• Experience with animal handling and husbandry desired.
