About the role
Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue research studying the epigenetic regulation of lymphocyte development and function under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity.
Responsibilities
- Designs, conducts, and evaluates research experiments.
- Plans and executes advanced cellular biology, molecular biology, and flow cytometry research techniques and procedures.
- Develops, adopts, and implements new laboratory methods.
- Analyzes and interprets data.
- Writes research papers for publication.
- Performs scientific literature searches.
- Presents research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings.
- Applies for postdoctoral fellowships.
- Assists Principal Investigator (PI) with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research.
- Participates in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and Department seminars and activities.
- Assists with training of other lab members.
Requirements
- MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required.
- Ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment.
Qualifications
- Experience with cellular biology, molecular biology, and/or flow cytometry research techniques and procedures desired.
- Experience with animal handling and husbandry desired.
