About the Role
The Stravitz-Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease and Metabolic Health (SSI) is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Arab’s Research Group. This position provides an opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects focused on liver diseases, with an emphasis on alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and the intersection of metabolic and alcohol-associated liver disease (MetALD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical and translational research in hepatology, metabolic diseases, and related areas.
- Perform systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and work with large datasets (e.g., GBD data).
- Collaborate with clinicians and scientists across disciplines.
- Maintain compliance with IRB processes and clinical research regulations.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, or other relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of liver disease pathophysiology and management.
- Experience in clinical research, preferably in hepatology or metabolic diseases.
- Proficiency in analytical software such as STATA, R, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with IRB processes and clinical research compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines and applicant experience.
Schedule
This is a minimum one-year appointment, contingent upon satisfactory annual reviews. Position will remain open until filled.
