About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated and scientifically curious candidate who recently received their Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD).
Responsibilities
- Lead an independent research project.
- Perform all data analysis and contribute intellectually to the project.
- Troubleshoot and be open to learning new techniques.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers.
- Participate in weekly lab meetings and Hillman-run research activities, including Journal clubs, research-in-progress presentations, and weekly research seminars.
- Contribute to the overall running and maintenance of the lab with other lab members.
- Proactively seek fellowship funding, if applicable.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD).
- More than 3 years of experience in cancer and/or mammalian cell biology during graduate training.
- Preferred experience in ovarian cancer, metastasis, redox biology, and/or mitochondrial biology.
Skills
- Strong technical skill sets related to the above areas of expertise, including:
- Confocal microscopy.
- Molecular biology (e.g., CRISPR gene editing).
- In vitro and in vivo tumor models.
- Metabolomics and mitochondrial functional assays.
- Excellent scientific communication and writing skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and learn new techniques.
