Post-Doctoral Fellow, Mines PFAS Remedial Technology Engineering Center

About the role

The PFAS Remedial Technology Engineering Center at Colorado School of Mines is seeking postdoctoral researchers to evaluate and develop remediation techniques for PFASs in various media. The role involves preparing evaluations for treatment technologies at different readiness stages and conducting laboratory and pilot-scale experiments.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent research activities in collaboration with faculty advisors
• Contribute to weekly research meetings and project team meetings
• Write scientific publications, reports, policy briefs, and guidelines
• Support proposal development for future research funding
• Mentor graduate students working on related research projects
• Present findings at regional and national conferences

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Geosciences, or related fields
• Experience with laboratory experiments and/or environmental chemical analysis
• Experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs)
• Strong publication record
• Ability to conduct appropriate statistical analysis of experimental data
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students

Qualifications

• Completed Ph.D. by start date of position
• Experience with PFAS treatment technology performance and readiness
• Experience with bench- or pilot-scale laboratory experiments related to PFAS treatment technologies
• Ability to manage a research group of graduate students

Pay

$62,000 - $65,000 annually
