About the Role

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support a U.S. Department of Energy funded project in collaboration with National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). The work focuses on market price forecasting and hydro-power scheduling optimization. The postdoc appointment is for one year and is expected to be renewed for a second year, contingent on performance and funding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead core R&D tasks
  • Assist the Principal Investigator in research and project management, including coordination with NLR and industry partners
  • Mentor graduate students
  • Contribute to reporting, publications, and proposal development

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in EE/CS/IE/OR or related field
  • Strong background in power systems and optimization and/or machine learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electricity markets; probabilistic forecasting
  • Hydro-power and hydraulic system modeling; large-scale optimization
  • Experience in related areas such as distribution automation/digitization, cyber-physical system security, energy-aware computing, etc.
