About the role

Responsibilities
- Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
- May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
- Leads efforts in supporting the Atmospheric Science and Chemistry Measurement Network (ASCENT) site at the University of Houston.
- Leads instrument operations including hands-on activities such as QA/QC checks and maintenance.
- Data processing, analysis, and leading publications.

Requirements
- PhD in atmospheric science, atmospheric chemistry, chemistry, physics, engineering, or related fields.
- Well versed in the operation of aerosol instrumentation, subsequent data handling, and have a strong background in aerosol science.
- Experience with Aerosol Mass Spectrometers and/or Aerosol Chemical Speciation Monitors is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
The position is funded solely by grant funding for at least 12 months, and extension is contingent upon additional grant funding.
Skills
- Singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
