Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct their own independent research project(s)
  • Collaborate with other researchers within and outside Boehringer Ingelheim
  • Effectively communicate and defend their own work in the context of team and department goals, both orally and in writing
  • Establish an international reputation in your area of expertise with publications and conference participation at national and international events
  • Publish first-author manuscript(s) and/or patenting of novel technologies/processes
  • Comply with applicable regulations; perform all work in a safe manner; maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Immunology, Ocular Biology, Pharmacology or related discipline, with a preference of no more than three (3) years of previous Post Doctoral experience
  • Extensive experience in area of scientific expertise
  • Experience designing, executing, and interpreting in vivo immunology or pharmacokinetic studies
  • Hands-on experience with animal research techniques including dosing, blood collection, sample processing, necropsy, and tissue collection is required
  • Experience with immunological assays such as ELISA, MSD, ELISPOT, flow cytometry, or related platforms is preferred
  • Strong scientific background in T cell immunology, immunogenicity, ocular biology, or ocular disease research is highly desirable
  • Ability to think and plan strategically as well as tactically
  • Creativity and innovation in driving cutting-edge research with a strong publication record
  • Ability to independently conduct a research project and effectively communicate the results
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Ability to optimize and develop assays/techniques, as well as leverage new technology opportunities to address scientific questions
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills with a strong collaborative mindset and ability to work across functions
  • Ability to comply with all applicable regulators, performing all work in a safe manner; maintain proper records in accordance with SOP's and policies

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation

This position offers a base salary of $80,000.00 USD. For an overview of our benefits please click here. The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future. Actual compensation will be based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, and other factors permitted by law.
