• Counsults with managing staff to conduct research on specific areas of study.

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Postdoctoral Associate to work at our UHealth Medical Campus in Miami, FL. The Desai Sethi Urology Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Associate to lead the development and implementation of Mass Spectrometry applications for translational and clinical research.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology or another relevant field required
• Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Ability to lead MS based projects with minimal oversight; Proficient in basic statistical methods and design of MSI / LC-MS experiments and techniques; 3+ years of relevant experience in a research or laboratory environment including: Working knowledge of MSI / LC/MS instrumentation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting (Experience with AB Sciex/Agilent Systems Preferred); Hands-on experience with sample preparation and extraction of small molecules from various biological matrices; Knowledge of various extraction protocols (protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, solid phase extraction, etc.); Hands-on experience with different chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry methodologies for analysis of biomarkers, or small molecules.
