Duties/Responsibilities
- Designing and conducting experiments to identify and characterize anti-CRISPR proteins from viruses;
- To identify and characterize new viruses and plasmids from hyperthermophilic archaea;
- To understand detailed molecular mechanisms of prokaryote-viral defense/counter-defense interactions.
Percentage of Time
- Designing and conducting experiments: 60%
- Maintenance of phage and bacteria stocks: 10%
- Preparation of manuscripts and conference presentations: 10%
- Supervision of student members: 10%
- Other duties as assigned: 10%

- Minimum Qualifications: PhD degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related fields.
- Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification: PhD level competence to conduct independent research; to include knowledge of literature, and abilities in hypothesis generation, experimental design, conducting experiments, drawing conclusions, writing reports and manuscripts, delivering oral presentations.
