Post-Doctoral Associate - Rajao Lab
About the role
The Rajao Lab in the Department of Population Health at the University of Georgia is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar to work with influenza pathogenesis and control. Our lab's research interests focus on the interspecies transmission, pathogenesis, and control of influenza viruses. Our laboratory uses a wide range of in vitro and in vivo approaches to study influenza virus host range and improve existing or new vaccines and antivirals.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop research projects, in vitro and in vivo experimental work, data interpretation, including collaborative projects.
- Preparing written and oral communication of research output.
- Mentoring and training of other lab members.
- Lab related activities (including meetings, housekeeping, etc).
Requirements
The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree and training in virology or immunology. Previous experience working with antivirals or vaccines. Previous experience working with swine and/or poultry. Energetic and self-driven. Highly motivated, dependable, and teamwork oriented.
Qualifications
- PhD in virology.
- Training and proven track record in cloning, sequencing, and avian/swine in vivo and in vitro models.

Schedule
8:00am—5:00pm. Nights and/or weekends may be required based on research needs.
