Post-Doctoral Associate AD

About the role

The Post-Doctoral Associate AD will be responsible for executing fermentation projects, including setup, cultivation, and cleaning of the system. They will also collect and analyze data. Cell culture and purification projects will be executed, requiring knowledge of cell culture and protein purification equipment. The candidate will develop new technologies and train and mentor students on equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Executing fermentation projects (50%): Includes setup, cultivation and cleaning of the system. Data collection and analysis.
• Executing cell culture and purification projects (40%): Requires understanding of cell culture and protein purification equipment and executing projects as needed.
• New technology development (5%): Contribute to the development of new procedures.
• Train and mentor students (3%): Train and mentor students (undergraduate and graduate) on equipment and techniques. Allow shadowing opportunities for students.
• Other duties as assigned (2%): Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• PhD degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology or related discipline or higher plus 3 or more years experience or a master of science degree or higher and 0 years experience.
• Knowledge of microbiology/fermentation, protein purification theory and practice including operation of FPLC equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of molecular biology principles including gene cloning and strain development.
• Ability to critically read and adapt procedures from the scientific literature, and accurately implement requested services.
