About the role
A postdoc position is available in the Department of Genetics at Rutgers, funded by the NIH.
Responsibilities
- Perform independent lab work using mouse systems to study human reproduction processes involving genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and microscopy/imaging.
- Manage, train, and schedule hourly student workers and undergraduate research assistants in various protocols and laboratory operations and procedures.
- Communicate with the Principal Investigator (PI) to review project performance, status, and deadlines on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct independent data review and reporting for all routine, existing, and future research projects.
- Maintain an accurate and detailed lab notebook, conduct genetic, cell, and molecular biology experiments, and oversee undergraduate research projects.
- Perform standard laboratory work including recombinant DNA techniques, phenotypic analysis, epifluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, high throughput genomics, mouse handling, oocyte manipulation, and mouse genetic analysis.
- Prepare and present data, make figures, and draft manuscripts.
Requirements
PhD in life sciences preferred. Experience with high resolution imaging and basic molecular biology techniques is preferred.
