About the role
This position is for a postdoctoral researcher to perform computational analysis of genome sequencing data in the Ellison laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement computational methods for analyzing large-scale genomic datasets
- Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret results and generate hypotheses
- Present findings at scientific meetings and publish research in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, and Perl
- Strong background in statistics and machine learning
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with high-performance computing and cloud-based platforms
- Knowledge of next-generation sequencing technologies and their applications
Skills
- Proficiency in Linux command line and scripting
- Experience with database management systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Understanding of RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and other genomics data types
