Post-bacc Research Assistant
About the role
The Psychology and Health Lab at Syracuse University is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Postbaccalaureate Research Assistant to work on federally funded psychology research projects. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in applying to graduate programs in psychology and related fields.
Responsibilities
- Oversee participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, and assessments in collaboration with other research staff members and graduate students.
- Assist with the management of human subject regulations defined by Syracuse University and the federal government that pertain to research studies.
- Assist faculty supervisors with Institutional Review Board (IRB) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) documents.
- Coordinate weekly project meetings, draft and maintain meeting minutes, and manage project to-do lists.
- Assist with data quality, process biospecimen kits and samples.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including mentoring and training of undergraduate research assistants.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, health, social, or behavioral sciences.
- Prior experience and interest in managing and/or conducting research in the field of social science and health.
- Demonstrated evidence of organizational and management skills and attention to detail.
- Strong writing and verbal skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience working in a research lab in the health, social, or behavioral sciences.
- Experience working in a lab that includes federally funded human subjects behavioral, health-related, and/or psychological research studies.
Benefits
This position is anticipated to be filled on a fully remote basis if the identified candidate is not currently located in the Syracuse, NY area (within 50 miles).
Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
