About the role

The selected candidate will be offered a salary of $95,000. This position is only open to candidates who are permanent (not provisional) in the Civil Service Title of Administrative Director of Social Service N/M.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and monitoring post-adoption subsidy activities, including Change of Payee requests, ICAMA referrals, subsidy upgrades, suspensions, and terminations.
  • Troubleshooting and coordinating with external and internal stakeholders, including OCFS, HRA, OOA, the Department of Financial Services, Medicaid, FCLS, the Education Unit, and SSO regarding post-adoption subsidy matters.
  • Responding to inquiries and concerns from adoptive parents, provider agency staff, courts, hospitals, and schools regarding post-adoption issues and services.
  • Reviewing, monitoring, and submitting address changes to ensure accurate case and payment information.
  • Interviewing and recommending candidates for unit vacancies.
  • Providing training, onboarding, and ongoing guidance to newly hired staff.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly unit statistical data and operational reports to executive leadership.
  • Reviewing and monitoring staff time and leave to ensure compliance with agency policies and operational coverage.
  • Conducting biweekly supervisory conferences and facilitating monthly staff meetings.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Post Adoption Unit, including administrative oversight, workflow management, staff support, disciplinary matters, and coverage of critical functions as needed.
  • Preparing and providing monthly Post Adoption reports and data analyses to the Director of Post Adoption Services.

Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above.
  • All candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and the one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in "1" above.
