About the role

The Post-Acute Medical Director will lead the medical direction of a post-acute care facility, overseeing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing clinical leadership to the medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical operations and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Provide clinical leadership to the medical staff, including physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with nursing and administrative teams to improve patient care and satisfaction.
• Ensure effective communication between the medical staff and patients/families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to address complex patient cases.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine or relevant specialty.
• At least 5 years of experience in a healthcare management role, preferably in post-acute care settings.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice medicine in the state of Indiana.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Knowledge of post-acute care regulations and standards.
