Job Summary
Positive Support Specialists (PSS) work in our Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs. These programs serve individuals with intensive medical, behavioral, and mental health needs. We utilize a person-centered approach to support individuals in reaching their goals while ensuring safety.
PSS team members assist individuals in performing essential life skills, advocating for their rights, and managing crisis situations safely and effectively, including the potential use of manual restraints. Training for Positive Behavioral Supports and manual restraints is provided in conjunction with the 245D requirements. Engagement in trauma-informed care is a daily priority.

Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must physically be able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of local community resources is a plus.
- Must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a driver's license - a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is also required.
Qualifications
- A minimum education of a high school diploma, with a preference for a degree in a field relevant to this role.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with people with complex needs, with a preference for 3-5 years of relevant experience.
