Responsibilities
- Finance: Charges accurately documented in electronic medical record. Maintains staffing levels meeting or exceeding WHOUPS goals. Manages supply par levels for all equipment. Composes and manages department schedule.
- Delivery: Conducts huddles reviewing department operations, patient care, and communication requirements. Maintains appropriate supply and equipment levels for optimal patient care. Composes requisition requests as per guidelines.
- Supports Teams: Assists Sepsis Alert Team and Vascular Access Team staff to meet bundle compliance and program obligations. Acts as a resource in all modalities of Respiratory Therapy and designated programs.
- Quality: Stays informed on new policies, procedures, and processes. Shares best practices, equipment, staffing, supplies, and processes to promote consistency, collaboration, and standardization. Updates and maintains DMS Huddle Board/Problem Solving Board. Maintains and updates employees' required licensure, competencies, and certifications.
- Patient/Employee Experience: Conducts purposeful rounding with both patients and staff for real-time problem solving and building trust. Provides informative and effective employee evaluations and reviews. Acts as department advocate in assigned committees or organizational programs.
- Safety: Updates and maintains risk event reporting. Collaborates with the Director to promote departmental safety. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates safety initiatives.
- Growth: Provides innovative ideas for enhanced efficiencies and service line opportunities. Collaborates with staff to effectively implement ideas, suggestions for improvement, and growth opportunities as brought forth by the department ACT team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business, or Education Required
- 7 years clinical experience in an acute care facility and 3 years of lead experience Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Certification Required
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - License Required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - License Required
- Masters in Healthcare or Business Preferred
- 2 years of Vascular Access Insertion experience Preferred
