About the Role

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for client relationship management, including servicing oversight, strategy implementation, facilitation of transactions, and overall profitability for the organization. This role leverages excellent communication skills, creative talents, project management, and analytical skills to serve as the key point of contact for a dedicated group of 3rd party mortgage clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key, empowered single point of contact for a dedicated group of 3rd party mortgage clients.
  • Create, design, and implement value-add business strategies and client campaigns that affect current operating practices and company policy.
  • Manage key operational risk-management metrics, including investigating and coordinating the resolution of any operational issues.
  • Oversee the delegated authority request process to ensure timely submission and receipt of requests.
  • Manage the oversight and tracking of incoming transfers, completing required GSE forms and submissions.
  • Oversee and manage repurchases, partnering with prior seller/servicers.
  • Perform monthly oversight and reconciliation of GSE invoice management, including root cause analysis and resolution for servicing errors.
  • Manage individual client P&Ls and negotiate fee schedules and associated contractual requirements.
  • Assist the Portfolio Management Team with assimilating new third-party clients.
  • Partner with Legal to review and provide comments on new Servicing Agreements for operational risks and concerns.
  • Improve operational efficiency by organizing and implementing servicing agreement content for ease of use.
  • Investigate and resolve key portfolio issues using judgment and discretion.
  • Articulate and present ideas and findings to varied audiences, including production staff and senior management.
  • Organize and lead onsite visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline.
  • 3+ years of equivalent work experience in Mortgage Servicing, preferably in a client-facing function.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of GSE guidelines and regulations (preferred).
  • Basic accounting knowledge (preferred).
  • Strong business communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail with organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel (graphs, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Fast learner, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience with SQL, business/data/statistical analysis, PowerPoint, and Visio (preferred).
  • Natural entrepreneurial interest (preferred).
