About the role
The Portfolio Manager II partners with the Relationship Manager in supporting the growth and management of the loan portfolio. This role provides ongoing asset management of a credit portfolio and conducts regularly scheduled reviews of overall asset quality, with a focus on evaluating performance against original underwriting expectations. These reviews evaluate information including borrower/sponsor historical financial statements, changes in the macroeconomic/reimbursement environment, pro forma statements, planned capex, stress testing, and overall analysis of the credit condition of the borrower/sponsor.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and assess the credit profiles of customers in the assigned portfolio.
- Help manage customer relationships by providing exceptional service.
- Assist with routine issues such as monthly/quarterly reporting requirements, overdrafts, wires, and new account openings.
- Ensure renewals, extensions, and annual reviews are completed in a timely manner.
- Seek ways to enhance customer profitability by identifying cross-sell opportunities.
- Identify referral opportunities from current customers and centers of influence.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support growth and long-term success.
- Manage mid-sized client portfolios and recommend appropriate credit solutions.
- Meet with clients to strengthen partnerships and uncover new opportunities.
- Analyze financial information to assess creditworthiness and lending suitability.
- Monitor portfolio performance through asset quality reviews and market analysis.
- Maintain accurate loan records, reporting, and documentation for compliance.
- Present credit recommendations to senior credit leaders through written and verbal analysis.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of Credit Analysis/Credit products underwriter experience; or 10+ years of equivalent work-related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of intermediate accounting theory, including the difference between GAAP and income-tax based statements, cash and accrual accounting, consolidation, and elimination principles.
- Ability to clearly communicate and convey information and ideas through a variety of channels.
- Ability to leverage a network of relationships with clients, relationship managers, and peers for support in achieving both individual and organizational goals.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit principles, lending functions, loan analysis, and application of general credit policies.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous work habits.
- Ability to critically review work for errors and incorrect conclusions.
- Ability to complete assignments quickly and efficiently with minimal direction.
- Ability to proactively communicate with both colleagues and senior personnel.
