Job Summary
Product Development & Readiness (PDR) team member responsible for transforming concepts into market-ready services, ensuring consistent quality, commercial viability, and delivery readiness. Operates within one of three pillars (Cloud & AI, ITPM, or Managed Services & Support), sharing a common operating model while focusing on distinct technical domains, partner ecosystems, and customer segments. Works closely with portfolio intelligence, operations, product marketing, finance, and delivery teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own all offers within the assigned pillar, ensuring scope fit at intake and making final decisions on offer prioritization, refresh, or sunset.
- Own offer design, scope, packaging, and pricing within the pillar, defining the value proposition and target buyer, and ensuring margin validation with Finance & Legal.
- Bring Product Marketing in early on positioning and naming, not bolted on at the end. Build, pilot, and launch offers, managing pilot delivery and the client relationship, securing 2–3 pilots sold before advancing.
- Co-own the pilot gate go/no-go decision with the Sr. Mgr, Portfolio Strategy & Intelligence. Make fast pivot-or-scrap calls on negative pilot feedback; take the offer live at full launch.
- Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with practice teams and SMEs in the pillar’s domain, engaging the right internal and external stakeholders at every stage of the lifecycle.
- Provide pillar performance data into the portfolio review and RLT reporting cadence.
- Travel up to 20% to support customer engagement, pilot coordination, and internal alignment sessions.
Job Requirements
- Demonstrated experience using AI in a practical, applied way, such as improving workflows, automating tasks, enabling better decision-making, or increasing impact in prior roles.
- Proven experience in product / offer management, portfolio management or solution development, ideally in a technology, cloud or managed-services environment.
- Strong commercial acumen: packaging, pricing, margin, and value-proposition design.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across sales, delivery, marketing, finance, and external partners.
- Comfort using performance data to make invest / refresh / sunset decisions.
- Domain depth (or fast ramp) in the relevant pillar (cloud & AI, IT cost management / licensing, or managed services & support).
- Entrepreneurial, accountable, and customer-focused aligned to SoftwareOne’s IMPACT values.
Success Criteria
- A healthy, well-governed pillar where every offer has a clear owner and lifecycle stage.
- Disciplined movement through the gates: no offer reaches full launch without 2–3 pilots sold.
- Fast, clear pivot-or-scrap decisions instead of ambiguous review cycles.
- Offers that evolve with market demand, informed by portfolio intelligence and customer signal.
- Strong attach, conversion, and revenue contribution from the pillar, visible on the RLT dashboard.
- Organizational alignment reports to Senior Director, Product Development & Readiness.
- Closely works with Senior Director, PDR, Sr. Manager Portfolio Strategy & Intelligence, Portfolio Operations Manager, and Director of Product Marketing.
- Collaborates internally with Service SMEs & CoEs, Sales Leadership & Enablement, Finance, Legal, and Regional Leadership Team (RLT).
- Engages externally with existing customers, prospective customers, ISV and technology partners, channel partners, hyperscalers (Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud), industry analysts, and Global PMM / GTM teams.
