Portfolio Leader, Semiconductor Materials
About the Role
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Portfolio Leader, Semiconductor Materials, you will drive strategy and portfolio direction for advanced semiconductor materials, leading and aligning a global, cross‑functional team operating across multiple time zones including APAC, EMEA, and the Americas.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with the leadership team to set and execute long‑term strategic direction and operating plans for complex markets and product lines.
- Develop business strategies and create solutions for highly complex, multi‑faceted challenges.
- Provide marketing leadership across customer insights, economic analysis, market research, new product introductions, strategic planning, integrated communications, pricing, and CRM strategy and platform design.
- Ensure the application of appropriate marketing principles and establish standards and performance measures for assigned business areas or product lines.
- Plan, organize, and direct all marketing activities and policies across multiple disciplines, including market research, channel/product marketing, digital, business/market development, branding, pricing, new product introduction, price maintenance, deviated pricing, bids and quotes, business agreements, merchandising, price optimization, analytics, accrual management, and rebates.
- Coach and develop team members to optimize pricing, merchandising, processes, CRM utilization, sales processes, sales operations analytics, and customer insights.
- Lead strategic growth initiatives for assigned business areas.
- Serve at the Management Operations Committee or Leadership Team level for large, complex international subsidiaries.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Twelve (12) years of semiconductor or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Five (5) years of experience in a P&L leadership role managing teams of at least ten (10) members in a private, public, government or military environment
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA and Master's degree in chemical engineering, material science or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Experience leading a portfolio of products totaling over $200 Million
- Experience setting strategy and vision for organizations of over 20 product managers
- Experience leading a global team spanning multiple time-zones, with an emphasis on APAC market
- More than fifteen (15) years of semiconductor or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Strategic leadership with strong decision‑making capability
- Executive‑level communication and stakeholder influence
- Coaching, developing, and inspiring high‑performing teams
Work Location & Schedule
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel may include up to 20% domestic/international. Relocation may be authorized.
Compensation
The expected compensation range for this position is $287,281 - $351,122, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate and may vary based on factors including relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
