This role serves a single client as a member of a large, global sustainability team. Reporting to the Americas sustainability team lead, you will drive the development and execution of an energy, water, and waste management program to meet the client's reduction and landfill diversion goals through JLL's Integrated Facilities Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an energy management strategy for a portfolio of sites, implementing comprehensive programs to reach sustainability objectives
  • Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests, supporting corporate reporting objectives
  • Manage the energy, waste, and water data collection process within JLL's technology platform, producing monthly and quarterly reports tailored to meet client-specific requirements
  • Drive operational improvements through the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve energy and sustainability performance across extensive real estate portfolios
  • Collaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices, develop case studies, and identify new business opportunities
  • Engage with JLL facility managers to become the key point of contact for wide-ranging advice on all aspects of environmental sustainability
  • Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility and sustainability management systems for monitoring and reporting
  • Provide technical training and mentor more junior colleagues, leading the technical support team to solve complex problems, plan and prioritize deadlines, and identify innovative solutions

Requirements

  • University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields)
  • 5-10 years of experience working in the Energy/Sustainability field with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Specialized technical understanding of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems and their impact on sustainability goals
  • Advanced understanding of energy and water conservation measures
  • Strong ability to analyze corporate portfolio by benchmarking and reviewing utility data to drive sustainability measures
  • Advanced understanding of Greenhouse Gas Emission scopes and reporting
  • Familiarity with energy procurement process and renewable energy options
  • Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view
  • Ability to lead the technical support team to solve complex problems, plan and prioritize deadlines, and think strategically to identify innovative solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting site walkthroughs to find conservation measures (e.g., ASHRAE Level 1 and 2)
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience in the preparation of tenders and work orders and the ability to select appropriate equipment and service vendors
  • Specialized knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management and energy budgets, environmental improvement programs, and ISO 14001 compliance
  • Experience working with multifunctional teams to drive results
  • Experience managing small teams of energy and sustainability professionals
  • Track record of developing and executing carbon footprint reduction and landfill diversion programs
  • Experience with utility and sustainability management systems for monitoring and reporting purposes
  • Background working with Integrated Facilities Management teams on sustainability initiatives
  • Ability to think strategically, simplify the complex, solve problems, and see the big picture
  • Learning agility with intellectual curiosity and appetite for risks
