About the role

Eversource seeks an experienced Information Technology Architect to lead the planning and implementation of the company's IT architecture, focusing specifically on the Gas Realtime systems and Security. This role requires a deep understanding of IT and Operational Technology (OT), as well as familiarity with AVEVA suite of tools and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and grows talent in the solution architecture discipline, leading highly technical teams to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Champions the value of architecture and communicates across the organization to foster better linkage between application development and the infrastructure organization.
  • Manages portfolio IT roadmaps, designs, and guides technology direction within a portfolio of applications aligned with business roadmaps.
  • Collaborates with other architects on strategy alignment across portfolios and enterprise.
  • Onboards and manages members of the team, including the design and modeling of solutions, component identification and acquisition, quality review, and development of guidelines and procedures.
  • Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses, risks, and opportunities for improvements such as expanding capacity, reducing time and cost, and increasing effectiveness and resiliency.
  • Assists Enterprise Architecture in developing and communicating architectural policies and standards for the enterprise.
  • Develops materials and presents on current and future architecture trends and their impact on the enterprise.
  • Coordinates with the PMO, Portfolio Managers, and Product Centers on planning upcoming projects and work.
  • Supports the portfolio and assists on complex troubleshooting that spans solutions in the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Architecture or lead subject matter expert experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in supervising and leading architects.
  • Understanding of the difference between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT).
  • Experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Track record of leading and delivering cost-effective solutions.
  • Experience in managing all aspects of vendor relationships including vendor performance and SLA adherence.

Qualifications

  • Technical Knowledge/Skills: Strong business acumen, big-picture thinking, experienced working with leadership and leading a team.
  • SAFe Agile planning and work methodologies.
  • Test and/or Behavior-driven development planning within an Agile context.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline-based delivery mechanisms.
  • Microsoft Azure experience preferred.

Skills

  • Understanding of AVEVA suite of tools.
  • A familiarity with AVEVA Operations and Control Automated Radio and Telephone communication in and out of gas operations and / or gas dispatch.

This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is: $154,560.00-$171,730.00. Pay

The annual salary range for this position is: $154,560.00-$171,730.00. Salary is commensurate with your experience.

Schedule

Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change based on managerial discretion and work performance.
