Portfolio Analyst (Western Asset)

Responsibilities
- Manage the pre- and post-trade execution process: Oversee allocations, and trade entry, while ensuring all trades meet compliance and market deadlines; utilize the OMS system to efficiently book trades for both local and global offices; pro-actively seek opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and create consistency in process outcomes
- Manage the end-of-day trade process: Ensure all trades are accurately loaded, driving transparency and reliability in portfolio valuations; partner with the back office to investigate and resolve confirmation breaks and trade fails, maintaining operational accuracy
- Action portfolio maintenance trades: Monitor daily cashflows across portfolios; communicate necessary maintenance and rebalancing trades to stakeholders; monitor post-trade impacts
- Advance corporate actions workflow: Preclear voluntary corporate actions and support the corporate actions process; communicate critical updates and action items to PMs, Client Service, and Compliance, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and meet corporate action deadlines
- Monitor portfolio compliance: Pro-actively review daily portfolio compliance reports, swiftly addressing action items to maintain regulatory and guideline integrity; track the downgrade dashboard and coordinate timely responses to credit rating changes; monitor and report benchmark updates
- Support client-related requests: Prepare information and analysis for PMs and Traders for client meetings or specific client requests
- Deliver actionable insights: Develop in-depth understanding of various portfolio strategies and understanding of key risk factors and metrics; prepare and analyze daily portfolio reporting, surfacing trends and opportunities; review and analyze monthly performance data, identify issues, and collaborate with PMs to optimize results
- Support investment accounting: Partner with Investment Support and Accounting to resolve book value, yield, and other accounting queries, enhancing financial reporting
Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail: Your analytical mindset and problem-solving skills set you apart in a fast-paced environment
- Financial and technical proficiency: Demonstrated strength in financial, mathematical, and statistical analysis; expert-level Excel skills required; familiarity with query tools (SQL, Python) is a plus
- AI fluency: Comfort with and/or experience using AI tools to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decision-making
- Influential communicator: Ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, driving consensus and action
- Asset management experience: Previous exposure to asset management is highly valued and will accelerate your impact
- Educational foundation: Bachelor’s degree preferred; CFA designation or progress toward a designation is highly desirable

Pay
The base salary for this position ranges between $95,000 - $110,000 depending on level of relevant experience, plus discretionary bonus.
