About the role

The Portfolio Analyst role puts you at the intersection of quantitative research, portfolio construction, and live investment decision-making. You'll own or assist in critical parts of the investment process, from signal validation to portfolio risk management, with direct visibility into how your work affects real capital allocation in multi-billion dollar quant equity hedge fund strategies. You'll work alongside a team of Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts, with the opportunity to shape how strategies are implemented and improved.

Responsibilities

  • Work with portfolio managers on day-to-day portfolio management workflows, including validating the implementation of the investment strategies
  • Analyze the output of our portfolio construction process to ensure the integrity of our investment philosophy and improve the outcomes
  • Work with the team in identifying and championing new alpha and risk management ideas from concept through to implementation
  • Design tools for evaluating and improving portfolio implementation and performance
  • Assist in signal enhancement initiatives in partnership with research teams, and develop independent research ideas with a clear path to production
  • Assist in the analytical narrative for client communications and presentations
  • Work across teams within Man Group to solve investment, technical, and operational challenges

Requirements

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate coursework in accounting, finance, statistics, computer science, economics, or mathematics
  • Coding experience required, Python preferred
  • Recent graduates encouraged to apply
  • Deep interest in investing and the financial markets
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated track record of self-directed projects or research
  • Strong sense of integrity

Pay

US Pay Range: $95,000 USD - $125,000 USD base salary. Compensation packages also include benefits and a discretionary bonus.
