About the role
At Acrisure Underwriting, we believe that people deserve better protection and that data and technology make it possible. We are looking for an actuary who shares this belief. This is not a back-office or “sit-in-the-ivory-tower” position; it’s a role where we are building great products and need someone excited by the prospect of joining the team. With the support of Acrisure’s leadership, we are building a modern tech platform that includes an actuarial and analytics suite alongside the underwriting workbench.
We need someone creative who can go deep to solve real business problems, build and leverage analytics and technology to shape pricing strategies, refine models, inform product design (new and existing), and tell compelling data-driven stories to our carrier partners and reinsurers. You’ll partner daily with underwriters, program managers, software and data engineers, and reinsurance brokers. Your work will inform pricing actions, uncover new opportunities, and drive smarter decisions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain actuarial pricing models; prepare and present indication reports.
- Refine and optimize pricing methodologies to improve profitability and competitiveness.
- Leverage Python, SQL (and advanced Excel) to streamline processes, automate tasks, and extract actionable insights.
- Work with large, complex datasets to identify trends, emerging exposures, and business opportunities.
- Engage underwriters, claims professionals, program teams, and reinsurance brokers to translate technical analyses into clear business recommendations.
- Create compelling dashboards and presentations that “sell” our story to internal stakeholders and external reinsurers.
- Proactively identify and implement efficiency gains across the actuarial workflow.
Requirements
- FCAS/ACAS credential with ~5-10 years of P&C pricing experience.
- Solid track record in actuarial pricing, indications, and data analysis.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL for both modeling and automation.
- Advanced Excel skills to complement your coding toolkit.
- Excellent communicator—skilled at distilling complex analyses into clear business insights.
- Self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Technology-driven mindset with a passion for modernizing actuarial workflows.
Pay
The base compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
Schedule
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
