Porter, Waste Handling

Duties

• Daily removal of tenant trash located in service corridors behind tenant spaces.
• Operate compactors for trash disposal.
• Operate pressure washer to maintain tunnel cleanliness.
• Remove and compaction of all compactor areas that may require additional clean up.
• Auxiliary support for other departments, such as Marketing, during events.
• Establish procedures to ensure completion of scheduled cleaning of different areas of the facility.
• Maintain a professional, cooperative working relationship with management and all co-workers.
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines to promote a safe working environment.
• Ensure the appropriate inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, cleaning supplies, and equipment are maintained.
• Note damaged or missing property, missing trash containers, and other issues and notify supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical School certifications and/or training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to effectively present information to departmental management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and multi-task.
• Knowledge of safety rules, hazards, and application of accident prevention measures.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
