About the role
The Service Porter will maintain the dealership’s appearance, assist with vehicle movement, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet all customers entering the service area with a friendly and professional attitude, answer their questions, and direct them to the appropriate person or location.
- Determine if customers coming into service have an appointment.
- Record customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage (walk around).
- Move and park vehicles in the dealership premises to maintain flow of traffic.
- Drive vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.
- Keep the dealership lot, driveways, and sidewalks clean, organized, and presentable.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Retrieve customer vehicles at cashier for pick-up; wait at vehicle for customer, thank customers for their business.
- Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and I.D. tags in all vehicles taken in for service.
- Support service departments with various tasks as required (e.g., replenish vehicle fluids and minor vehicle assistance tasks).
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physically able to drive and move vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain the dealership’s professional appearance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
- Able to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or automotive industry is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of vehicles is a plus.
Pay
$17/hour (base hourly compensation).
