Porter/Maintenance Tech

About the role

This role supports the upkeep, functionality, and presentation of our residential community. It involves more than just basic cleaning and includes performing light repairs, assisting with maintenance tasks, conducting regular property walks, and responding to urgent needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of common areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and amenity spaces
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as light repairs, bulb replacements, basic plumbing fixes, and preventative upkeep
• Assist with work orders and support the maintenance team with day-to-day operational needs
• Conduct regular property walks to identify maintenance issues, safety concerns, or cleanliness needs
• Support unit turns, including trash removal, light repairs, and preparation for new residents
• Maintain exterior areas, including walkways, parking areas, and grounds, ensuring they are clean and hazard-free
• Respond promptly to spills, maintenance requests, and urgent property needs
• Assist with moving materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
• Report larger maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate team members
• Ensure tools, equipment, and storage areas are organized and properly maintained

Requirements

• Previous experience in maintenance, porter, or facilities roles (residential or commercial preferred)
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Basic communication skills and ability to follow safety procedures
• Flexibility to work a full-time schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends

Pay

$20-$24/hr, depending on experience.

Schedule

40 hours a week with occasional rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
