About the Role

As a Maintenance Staff Member, you’ll ensure all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained, and all common areas are kept clean, aesthetically appealing, and disinfected.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely inspect floors, including the roof, checking for problems and burnt-out lights, and report findings to supervisors.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
  • Maintain a working relationship with building staff.
  • Perform painting of all common areas and touch-ups as required; inspect areas needing paint and advise the manager.
  • Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items, following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Perform minor maintenance, replacement, and repairs in carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs through daily scheduled work orders, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
  • Conduct maintenance, replacement, and repair in areas of carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other minor building repairs, provided no permit is required.
  • Properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to use.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Two years of general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance, or handyman work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Work in an upright standing position for long periods; ability to reach overhead and have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
  • Navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights up to 14 ft on A-frames and 21 ft on extension ladders.
  • Work in different environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).
  • Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Lift, pull, and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
