Porter: Cleaning, Painting, & Landscaping

About the role

The Porter is a new position for the property that will elevate the overall experience for the team and the residents. The role is filled with variety and is a great way for someone to learn a variety of skills. The role contains responsibilities of a painter, groundskeeper, cleaner, and maintenance technician. The role will frequently interact with customers and prospective residents and will have the opportunity to provide positive interactions with those individuals as well.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and housekeeping of common areas, such as the community clubhouse, building hallways, model unit, pool area, community amenities, etc.
• Paint apartment homes to varying degrees from light touch-up work to more extensive projects.
• Maintain lawns, grounds, landscaping, and parking lots including snow removal.
• Aid in the daily cleanliness of the community including, but not limited to:
• Assist with the preparation of vacant apartments to be in market-ready condition.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residence.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have and maintain vehicle insurance coverage.
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and at job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position, other than the occasional training seminar or company conference.
