About the role

The Porter position at United Land Services is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of assigned commercial properties. This role supports landscape maintenance crews by performing tasks such as removing trash, debris, and cleaning trash receptacles. Additional responsibilities include operating equipment, assisting with light maintenance activities, and reporting issues.

Responsibilities

• Remove trash, debris, leaves, and other litter from assigned properties.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles throughout customer sites.
• Operate backpack blowers and other equipment to maintain clean sidewalks, curbs, parking lots, and common areas.
• Auxiliary tasks include weeding, edging, and general site cleanup.
• Perform pressure washing of sidewalks, curbs, and other hardscape surfaces as needed.
• Remove cobwebs, dirt, and debris from building exteriors, signage, light poles, and other site features.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting tools, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Report property damage, safety concerns, and maintenance issues to management.
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and customer site requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service while representing United Land Services in a professional manner.
• Assist landscape crews with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous groundskeeping, porter, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
• A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality are necessary.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
• The ability to follow verbal and written instructions is crucial.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate landscape maintenance equipment and tools.
• Ability to work extended hours and overtime as needed.
