Duties / Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of pots, pans, and utensils, and maintaining a clean and neat work area.
• Responsible for surface cleaning Food Service areas: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and scrubbing of all surfaces by hand and utilizing commercial cleaning equipment.
• Responsible for assisting in tasks related to receiving, storage, disbursing, and delivery of food and supplies.
• Perform "deep cleaning" and other project work as assigned.
• Responsible for trash removal and surface cleaning of trash receptacles in Food Services areas including storage, prep, and service areas, customer and physician dining.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to various temperature and humidity changes.
• Frequent lifting from floor to shoulder up to 55 pounds.
• Bending, stooping in awkward physical positions.
• Stands 100% of shift.
• Pushing carts weighing up 200 pounds.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
• Must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge and proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and cleaning procedures.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, lift, push, and pull heavy and awkward weights using carts and other conveyances.
• Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups.
