The Role Of a Porter
Cleaning: Ensure that all facility areas, including floors, counters, and storage areas, are kept clean and organized at all times. Perform daily deep cleans as per the schedule.
Dishwashing: Operate and maintain the dishwashing machines, ensuring all crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and stored appropriately.
Waste Management: Manage waste and recycling processes by emptying bins, following recycling protocols, and ensuring the disposal area is kept clean.
Stock Management: Assist in the unloading, checking, and storage of deliveries. Be responsible for organization of supplies.
Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, and report any maintenance or repair needs to the management.
Physical Demands And Environment
Ability to be flexible with job demands and open-minded when being asked to complete tasks.
Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to clean the facility.
Ability to operate with grace under pressure.
Ability to work onsite at varied hours/days, based on business needs and hours of operation, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day.
Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
On occasion, may be required to lift and carry, push or pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds; kneel, bend, ascend and descend stairs; reach and grab objects.
Pay
$18/hour.
