About the role
As a Warehouse Porter/Cleaner, you'll play a pivotal role in upholding cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within our warehouse environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a hygienic and orderly workspace through effective cleaning procedures.
Responsibilities
- Execute regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing to maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse facility.
- Adhere to strict guidelines for disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and high-traffic areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Manage proper disposal of waste, including recyclables and hazardous materials, following safety protocols and company regulations.
- Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning supplies by monitoring and restocking them.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damage, or equipment malfunctions promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow safety procedures while handling cleaning chemicals and operating cleaning equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
- Absorb additional tasks as required and collaborate with other warehouse team members during busy periods or special projects.
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education.
- Certification in warehouse cleaning or related field is advantageous.
- Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and proper handling procedures.
- The ability to work independently, follow safety protocols, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- The ability to handle tasks involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- An attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness in a warehouse environment.
- Strong communication skills to report issues and coordinate with warehouse staff.
Qualifications
- Ability to work in cold storage environments as low as -10°F.
