About the role

The Port Clinton Police Department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Police Detective Chief Patrolman to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in providing guidance, support, and safeguarding the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex criminal investigations and coordinate with other law enforcement agencies.
• Manage and mentor patrol officers, ensuring they adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement strategies to prevent crime and improve public safety.
• Provide expert testimony in court and assist in legal proceedings related to criminal cases.
• Conduct regular patrols to deter criminal activity and maintain public order.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience, including at least 5 years as a Police Detective.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws, police procedures, and investigative techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
