About the role

The Port Ambassador drives commercial opportunities at the ticket booth and surrounding high-foot-traffic areas. The primary goal is to increase on-site ticket sales, merchandise sales, and other partner opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Generate walk-up sales both in front of the ticket booth and in nearby high-traffic areas.
  • Persuade guests to purchase tickets, merchandise, and other available products.
  • Quickly recover from rejection, engaging as many potential guests as possible.
  • Upsell clients to higher-value items, including those who have already made a purchase.
  • Run and deliver sales reports to your supervisor for commission processing after each shift.
  • Assist ticket booth staff in maintaining the appearance of the ticket booth.
  • Maintain proper dress attire, including wearing selling merchandise to attract guests.
  • Make eye contact with potential guests and maintain composure while pushing for the sale.
  • Address guests by name and recognize special occasions.
  • Explain products, services, and prices, and answer customer questions.
  • Collect outstanding balances for reservations and payment vouchers from third parties.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a direct selling role.
  • Previous sales experience preferred, especially in a B2C setting.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Must meet minimum state age requirements.
  • Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain high organization, attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Listen effectively, assess situations, determine relevant issues, and suggest solutions.
  • Working knowledge of computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests.
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and all major holidays.
