Pool Server Attendant - Part Time

About the role

The Server Attendant position at Fairmont Grand Del Mar assists with the needs of the servers and bartenders. Key responsibilities include maintaining a congenial appearance, handling a fast-paced work environment, setting up for service, assisting with table maintenance, and communicating between kitchen and front of house.

Responsibilities

• Display a congenial appearance and is well groomed at all times.
• Handle a fast-paced work environment and demonstrate detail-oriented qualities.
• Ensure all setups are ready for service according to standards.
• Assist service to colleagues in completing pre-shift duties, including polishing serving trays, setting up the bar area, and performing additional side duties.
• Communicate through the kitchen to the Front of House staff and vice versa.
• Expeditiously deliver completed dishes to the service area, provide table maintenance to servers, assist bartenders with set-up, glass polishing, and restocking of bar items.
• Aid service colleagues in breakdown and clean-up of service areas, such as replacing and cleaning coffee and espresso service, storing service items, cleaning service trays, and keeping the bar area tidy for next day's service.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar restaurant environment preferred.
• Food Handlers Card required.
• RBS Certification required.
• High School graduate.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• To solve problems and make rational decisions.
• Knowledge of Restaurant operations, its services, and facilities.
• Superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.

Physical Demands

• Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to multi-task in a calm manner on a timely basis.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill daily tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
