About the Role

The Pool Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse (Pool DPC RN) is a licensed professional able to demonstrate proficiency and mastery of core competencies: assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership, and service. This role delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing and promoting evidence-based practice standards of quality, safety, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate mastery of core nursing competencies: assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership, and service.
  • Deliver patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner.
  • Utilize and promote evidence-based practice standards of quality, safety, and service.
  • Complete a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership for independent practice.
  • Work minimum shifts including weekend and holiday requirements as outlined in the nursing staffing policy.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred; required for RNs hired after specific dates per facility).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
  • 18 months of acute care experience in the ER.
  • RNs hired after specific dates (2/1/2012 for South, 10/1/2017 for Bethesda, 10/1/2023 for Boca, 7/1/2018 for Fishermen’s) with an Associate’s degree must complete a BSN within 3 years of hire.
