About the Role

To deliver individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies, and in accordance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies.

Registered Nurses use the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care. Biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs are addressed in all steps of the nursing process. This is demonstrated in baseline and comparative documentation, entered in a timely manner, and with evidence of age-appropriate consideration when care is planned, delivered, and evaluated.

The Professional Practice Model graphic and Duffy's caring factors are available for reference. This position is located in the Infusion Clinic at Moffitt Speros, Land O' Lakes, FL. Moffitt Cancer Center at Speros (MAS) is a 91,000 square-foot full-service outpatient facility and 26,000 square-foot Proton Therapy Center designed and equipped to provide the same level of cancer care as the main hospital.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of cancer patients and families.
• Integrates patient and family centered care and the quality caring factors into practice.
• Identifies, documents, and provides patient education based on learning needs of the patient.
• Participates in evidence-based improvement activities related to area of practice.
• Participates in professional development based on nursing professional standards, regulatory requirements, and job expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing. In lieu of a Bachelor's, an Associate's degree in Nursing plus 1 year of relevant experience may be considered.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL, or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL (must declare FL as primary State of residence within 60 days from date of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi-state privileges).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

• Medical and Hematology oncology experience as a registered nurse.
• Outpatient clinic experience as a registered nurse.
• Experience administering IV fluids, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, blood, and platelets.
• Experience accessing ports and changing central line dressings.
• Chemotherapy Certification.

Schedule

PRN (As Needed) - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay

Salary Range: $36.63 - $54.93 per hour. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
